People call these buildings a site for sore eyes… I am yet to find the cause of the sores. When I walk on the sites that lead me to the abandoned building, I can’t help but imagine life without humans.
What a better life for the world it would be if we didn’t exist. After all, we only know how to cause destruction and hate with one and other. I want to free my mind from the mess we live in.. A wickedly cruel world that we fight to be apart of.
I discovered beauty within these buildings that no longer receive attention. My hobby began through thrill seeking, running through sites that was run down usually littered with crack dens. The adrenaline going to my head, with the uncertainty of not knowing who or what is also lurking.
That’s where I began to notice I feel more alive, more aware of what is around me. That these ‘modern’ monstrous towers that shadow darkness are nothing but pieces of meaningless architect filled with pigs in tailored suits. As I began to put more time and thought into my visits, it became clear why these drug addicts made these places there home. A way of escaping society! A place where you are less likely to bump into another human, a place of security that has no recognition to the world, a place where you don’t exist.
Each photo tells a different story, only a taster of what the camera captures. The rest of the story lies in the person seeking.
Lovely photo series. Think about how you can develop this further; maybe a book? Use your words, it gives it a context, how it gives you adrenalin. Do it!
